By joining Alpha Impulsion as an assistant project manager, you will play a key role in the scale-up of autophage propulsion. As part of the Project Management Office, you will be responsible for coordinating activities between various Alpha Impulsion teams in Toulouse, Naples and academic/industrial partners all over Europe. You will also support reporting the project progress to key stakeholders: funding institutions, space agencies, etc. In addition, you will contribute to resource planning and long-term strategy within the company.

This position is based in Toulouse, with occasional missions for stakeholders meetings and to test sites.

You will contribute to the developement and testing of the GARNET engine, the world's first full-scale autophage engine for launch vehicles. The project brings together multiple engineering disciplines, from lab-scale all the way to full-scale rocket engine testing by 2029.

Your key responsibilities

As part of your missions in the Project Management Office, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:

• With the engineering teams, organise resource allocation and logistics of test articles. Depending on technical experience, lead or contribute to testing operationnal planning (including rocket engine testing), and the operations themselves.

• Work together with the Systems Engineering team to balance scope, budget and time requirements. Provide a global overview of the project's progress and scope to internal teams.

• Own and follow the project's planning, updating the schedule based on project partners and suppliers update, revise dependancies, and alert on tasks with thin margin or close to the critical path. Pay specific attention to long lead-time items, supplier delays, and logistical constraints.

• Follow critical project risks and identify new risks which may arise as the project unfolds. Determine/implement prevention measures and mitigations.

• Organize meetings (including general assemblies with all project partners), record notes, prepare progress reports, and act as main point of contact for the project. Maintain project documentation on Project Management aspects. Support engineering teams to interface with external partners.

What we would appreciate most

Required education, experience and skills

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or an equivalent Engineering discipline.

• 2 to 5 years of experience on space product developement in the industry. Any experience in a New Space company will be look upon positively, especially launchers/propulsion.

• Demonstrated experience in a junior or assistant project management position on an aerospace project. You will be required to demonstrate your understanding of the ground principles of Project Management during interviews.

• Deep understanding of rocket propulsion and rocket propulsion testing. Previous work experience in rocket propulsion is a major plus, enabling you to take a greater part in rocket engine operational planning.

• Interested in a startup environment: autonomy, accountability, pride of ownership.

• Professional English required. Profiency in French or Italian will be considered favorably.
