By joining Alpha Impulsion as a institutional relations manager, you will play a key role in the developement, funding and recognition of Alpha Impulsion accross Europe. Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for the management of public affairs with French and European institutions. You will also support influence activities in other countries such as Italy, ensuring strategic coherence with your own. In addition, you will provide support to business developement efforts, focusing on key French accounts. Frequent travel accross Europe are to be expected: Toulouse, Naples, as well as Brussels, London, Rome, etc.
This position is mostly remote, based in Paris, with a physical office location to be determined. Your colleagues will be present with you (in Paris or abroad) 20-40% of the year, as most employees are based in Toulouse and Naples.
You will contribute to transform the image of Alpha Impulsion from a small startup with a novel technology to a pan-European player able to profoundly transform its ecosystem.
Your key responsibilities
As part of your missions, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:
Develop your network and build awareness of our solutions with French institutions (CNES, DGA, etc.), EU institutions, and ESA.
With the CEO, represent Alpha Impulsion in strategic discussions with those institutions, defending our interests in national and European programs.
Carry Alpha Impulsion's voice in professional groups such as GIFAS and ANF, by participating in preparatory meeting, workgroups, etc. with other actors of the industry, in support of the previous activity.
Contribute to written strategic notes and position papers, organise delegation visits.
Represent Alpha Impulsion at professional events in Paris, or anywhere else in Europe.
Support business developement in the management of key accounts, either for companies based near Paris or for companies with a complex organisational structure.
Contribute to bid management activities: writing, consortium building, etc.
What we would appreciate most
Required education, experience and skills
Master’s degree in political science, public affairs, international relations, law or equivalent (e.g. business school).
2 to 5 years of experience in public affairs or within a public institutions. Candidates with more experience can apply, but the position's salary budget remains fixed.
An experience in a deeptech environment, ideally in Aeronautics Space and Defence, is required.
Deep understanding of the relationships between French institutions (various ministries, CNES, DGA, DGE), ESA, and the EU. Any actual experience in contact with one or multiple of these institutions is to be highlighted in you application (see cover letter below). Experience in contact with connected institutions (e.g. EUSPA, CDE, OTAN, etc.) is a plus.
Contagious passion of space, and enthusastic about the future evolutions of the space sector.
Comfortable speaking in public and discussing with high-profile leaders, CEOs, etc.
Interested in a startup environment: autonomy, accountability, pride of ownership.
Professional French and English required. Bilingual levels of English or French will be looked upon favourably, as is any profiency in any other European language (Italian especially).

Base salary negotiable based on experience.
